Larry Boone


Larry Boone began his law enforcement career in 1989 as an officer with the Norfolk Police Department.  Throughout his career, he has served in the Patrol Division, Metro-Tactical Unit, Canine Unit, the Office of Professional Standards, and the Gang Suppression Unit.  After 27 years of service, he was appointed Deputy Chief of Police on September 22, 2015.

Deputy Chief Boone has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia Southern University and a Master's Degree in Public Administration.  He is a 2010 graduate of the 241st session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.  He is active in the community, volunteers for a number of community events, and is a member of the Virginia Chiefs of Police Association, the International Chiefs of Police Association and the F.B.I.
